Though I do not feel intimidated by the info on "Internet and diffamation" on Koratfarang because the only really defaming and offensive posts by Dr Trat and somebody posting under 8 different nicks over the Volico proxy server in the early hours of July 20 have already been moved to our archive before  I propose to also archive the thread "Is Korat a civilized place?" to have the Korat expat community get back to normal. This thread definitely does not contain defamation of a member of our Korat expat community but does contain a post that might be considered to contain Lese Majeste, insulting the Thai Monarchy, committed by a certain individual,  There is no reason to go beyond our limit which was only to stop a certain person from harassing members of the Korat expat community with never ending email threats. That goal seems achieved.

So let's have peace again in Korat and let the people from far away who'd like to keep the flame burning be ashamed!

We were forced by allegations of defamation to remove some material to keep this account open.

Though I am not aware of any defamations that have not been removed already I did remove other material that the person who threatened our webhost might find offensive. No more arguing about whether it was offensive or not in one or the other perspective. Just let's go on with our lives having learned a little more.

There are many ways to teach. You do not always need words on an internet forum for everybody to read. Actions - or non-actions - speak louder anyway. We're living in a free world - well, supposed-to-be free world - where you have the freedom to select. Mouth-to-mouth is usually even better, 'cause you don't have the flamers interfering. So my friends, keep enlightening each other!

Looks like impersonations are fun. You might also call them drama. Drama seems to relieve. It's part of the garbage can philosophy - as long as it doesn't become traumatic.

So I think a whole new forum for drama or role play might be a good idea. How about one with the sub domain "drama.koratfart.com"? A forum where you can play what 'could be' but is merely drama. We could even adapt some of already existent material. Let me think a little and look for a suitable host.

Ideas and definitions are welcome.

I think you might be taking Ajarn Y for Ajarn X. But usually letters are meant for distinction of identities and not confusion of identities like in "Moderator X", "Moderator Y" and "Moderator Z".

How about a poll which proxy-service is closing the next customer account due to abuse?

We don't want to make free advertisement for proxy-services by mentioning their urls or company names. But it appears that the company that  IMO is going the most advertisement for "trusted services" over the web and is using a server near Fort Lauderdale, Fla, has just terminated one of their paying customer's accounts. Who's to follow their example might be a good question. Please don't get your proxy-service in trouble. Better not use any.
