Pirated movies, music seized in Ubon
Police on Friday confiscated more than 10,000 pirated DVDs, VCDs and music CDs in central Ubon Ratchathani.
Department of Special Investigation chief Tharit Pengdit said police initially planned raids on five or six locations where counterfeit goods were being sold. Many of the locations were run by gangs and influential figures.
"Police were able to raid only three areas as some other sellers had been alerted before hand," Mr Tharit said.
Following the raid, police confiscated over 10,000 pirated movie and music products and arrested three piracy suspects.
Ubon Ratchathani is the area where pirated products are being distributed to other provinces in the Northeast, the DSI chief added.
