35 provinces declared cold-spell disaster zones so far


Thirty-five provinces have been declared cold-spell disaster zones so far, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department announced Wednesday.

Wibul Sanguanpong, the director-general of the department, said 35 provinces have been declared cold-spell disaster zones from November 5 to January 9.

The provinces are 15 northern, 19 northeastern and a central provinces.

They include Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Phayao, Loei, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Phanom, Nong Khai, Mukdahan, Surin, Si Sa Ket and Ratchaburi.

Disaster zones?  It's not like we're getting snowed on here.  In fact, I'm actually enjoying this cold spell.

221 districts cold spell disaster zones
 
Altogether 221 districts in 23 provinces have been declared cold spell disaster zones, the National Disaster Warning Centre said on Tuesday.

The provinces are Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Phrae, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Nan, Tak, Phayao, Lampang, Lamphun, Petchabun, Sakon Nakhon, Loei, Nong Khai, Nakhon Phanom, Ubon Ratchathani, Mahasarakham, Mukdahan, Kalasin, Buri Ram, Suphanburi, and Ratchaburi.
