Looking for Water filtration system coming into the house
« on: January 26, 2019, 05:04:58 PM »
I am looking for a water filtration system that will filter the water of most of the large particles and the minerals here in Korat.

The house was finished in 2011 and the next year I put in a tank & pump system with a full filter under the sink for drinking water, but no filter for the rest of the house. The house is a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom single story bungalow with a full Western kitchen.
I had to replace a tap on the laundry sink the other day due to a build-up of deposits & minerals.
I am looking at a pre-filter with a resin type filter media and I am undecided on the next one, a full replaceable carbon cartridge type of a filter Or a layered  filter that requires a back flush to clean out the filter media from time to time.
I realise that the tank will have some sediment in it and will have to be drained down and flushed, not a problem as I have a high pressure washer, I’ll just get a little wet, LOL

Has anyone got recommendations of which type they use?

Mazuma Water Filters are quite popular.

If you can read German or use a translator tool, you can look up the subforum Water and Sanitary on Korat-Info forum. Lots of options were discussed there. Are you looking for something like that?

 :cheers

Thanks Johnnie,

Lots of good info there (used google translate), but not the answer I am looking for unfortunately.
There are some other forums around thailand that I will search over the coming days and will post my findings back here when I find the info I need.

KC. If you PM BabyFart he knows quite a lot about setting up water filter systems - he and I had a lot of discussion about it. When I was in Korat I had a black unit standing about 5' high and a further unit on the ground with 3 blue cases on it - all the water going inside the house was then drinkable. The large unit was B12K.

A good shop - where the Makro / Big C road meets the main road at the traffic lights, there's a shop on the westbound side of the main rd. that sells the units I used.

Good luck.
