Please get the UK OUT of the EU
« on: February 19, 2016, 03:35:05 PM »
Just MO but the current shenanigans illustrate why it's essential for the UK to LEAVE the EU.
If some changes as simple as DC proposes are so difficult what chance is there of anything worthwhile being done. On benefits to EU citizens in the UK, these should be paid at the rate of the 'Immigrants' home country leading to equalisation of all benefits at the same rate across the whole EU to negate this injustice.
The UK needs the right to veto the imposition of EU changes to UK law.

DC is crazy - if he holds the Referendum in 2017 the EU, the EURO, the Schengen Agreement will be falling over under current pressures and the UK might have a whip hand !

The way the EU does business - fatcat indulgence - if the matters are important sit down and effing talk - without the caviar, champagne and pseudo splendour.

I'm with Mr Farage on this one.

Yes get the uk out

Would be nice to restore UK Parliamentary democracy and take back control from unaccountable bureaucrats in Brussels. Let Great Britain free of EU interference, and to decide who can come into Britain by controlling borders once again.

EU Membership costs Britain some where in the region of £14.5 billion per year. The top 100 EU Regulations i think cost the UK economy about £33.3 billion a year.

Since 1996 – when records began – the UK has never managed to block a single piece of EU legislation.

Britain joined the European Community in 1973. The then Tory Prime Minister Edward Heath took Britain into the EU. Britain then quickly forgot about the Commonwealth countries and began the disintegration of long standing economic ties. Australia for one was left to fend for itself as the British market was virtually wiped out overnight for Australian exports.
I bet Britons rue the day they joined the EU.  Britain has gradually been sucked dry by all the other members of the EU and continue to prop up failing economies much to the detriment of the ordinary British people.  Australian’s feel we were of no consequence and stabbed in the back economically by Britain.
Imagine today if they stayed with the Commonwealth countries what a kick start and boom would occur in Britain.  From my point of view it was a very big mistake to join the EU. I love the British people but like Australia we are infested with traitors and miscreants putting the corporatocracy above ordinary people.

Yes, I fully agree. Europe would be far better off without this cold, windswept, mosque infested island.

mosque infested island - mildly put T/T

He's struck a deal of special status and he will carry on campaigning with his "heart and soul" to stay in the union.

The new deal includes: bbc.com

Pound Heads Sharply Lower On Brexit Concerns

Sterling sinks to a near seven-year low against the US dollar after Boris Johnson fails to back David Cameron's EU reform deal.

The pound has fallen sharply after a series of political heavyweights threw their weight behind a UK exit from the European Union.

Sterling dropped by up to 3% during the day, touching a near seven-year low against the US dollar, at times nearing $1.40. It has not seen such lows since March 2009.

It regained some ground later on but the falls gave the pound its steepest one-day decline versus the US currency since early 2009 at the height of the recession.

I agree whole heartedly with you, but as your neighbor in the south, we where left out too, as most of the Commonwealth countries were.

I see in today's DX a survey recording 89% of readers wanting brexit !
But as that's the DX I'm surprised it's not 100 %....
I'm for OUT and there's surely room for the UK in the big wide world.
Aussie and KiwiC, sorry we left you - are we forgiven ?
Good 'ole Boris - Go BO JO !!!

British and Irish blood runs through our veins.  We would never abandon you.  The ordinary Brit doesn't need forgiveness. Almost every British politician since Heath should be round up, if still alive and have all their assets taken from them and the proceeds given to the poor and needy.

The EU having already regulated the withdrawal from sale of many models of vacuum cleaners in the UK, (due to power ratings), is poised to regulate toasters and many other domestic items. But these EU measures  are delayed to avoid feeding the UK's Brexit movement with further ammo !
Honestly if there was any reason for the existence of the EU, this would not be it . . . . .
Time to leave the overpaid and superannuated jobsworths of Brussels and Strasbourg to their own devices.

Apparently the UK has historically lost 73% of the cases it has taken to the European Court of Justice. Since DC was PM, it's 80%.
Another good reason to BREXIT !
Let our own Courts decide matters on our own Laws.

So I read today that MEP's are allowed to claim up to £120,000 of expenses without proof of how the money is spent !
MEP's should IMO be required to prove every £ or not claim it at all. That's over £2,300 a week expenses, on top of a handsome salary.

AND, Francois Hollande threatens that the Calais migrant camps may move to Dover if we brexit. I hope DC tells him to get lost on that one.

So it's brexit then.
