Hotter than Bangkok: Bikini Brits bask in 34C on hottest September day in 105 years

And it's Britain's hottest September day since 1911, the Met Office said.

Met Office forecaster Grahame Madge said: "Temperatures in the South East have created the warmest September day in the UK since 1911."

The "blowtorch" heatwave scorched Brits in Gravesend in Kent in skyrocketing highs of 34.5C.

Heathrow and Kew Gardens also reached soaring temperatures of 32.8C.
