Just a UK Day !
« on: January 15, 2013, 09:11:36 AM »
Good Morning.

Just observing that the Forum has frequent posts about crimes, accidents, corruption and tragedies of all sorts in Thailand and no problem with that.

Though I'm sure I'm not the only Brit. that keeps in touch with stuff at home - Just a few captions from The Deadly Mail today :-
"Beaten black and blue and threatened with mutilation - Elderly couple told hands would be cut off during terrifying robbery".
"East Enders actress Gemma McCluskey was battered to death by skunk smoking Brother who spent up to 3 hours dismembering her
    body with a meat cleaver"
"Woman celebrating her 37th Birthday stabbed a Guest in the back for eating her burger and chips"
"Pensioner whose body was found in his home survived for 24 hours after being tortured for his PIN no."
"Lesbian murdered her Lover with ornamental swan and hid body at bottom of garden under old settee"

More than enough I think - at least 10 more 'horrifics' like this in just one day's news. The UK looks like a Society that has seriously lost it's way by so many criteria. Oh and limit free numbers of Rumanians and Bulgars on their way soon.
Me I'm just glad to be here in Thailand, with all it's problems too.

Tried to post the links for this but failed !

Happy days to all.

All in one day? It must have been 6 March 2012, the day that Gemma McCluskie's body was found. All those events didn't happen on the same day, even though the Daily Mail, short of news, perhaps, may have found a reason to report about them on the same day.

I have to say that, on a forum for expats. in Thailand, I'm content to read here more about happenings in Thailand than in the UK.

OK. So choose another.

Another day, another newspaper website or another forum?

When you're on the index page of this forum just don't look up "Home: Britain", if you don't want to be confronted with "the UK day"! The subforum with it's posts about the sad reality doesn't pop up by itself.  ;D
Fun is the one thing that money can't buy

Hi Saf. I meant 'another' of the many similarly horrific captions one could choose from on this day or on any other day.
Of course many incidents feature in the Press more than once and I don't think I said these events happened on the same day anyway.
You're just miffed that I won the LeO. Have a nice day.

The thread title is misleading then!

You may have won the Leo but you had to buy the prize yourself.   :cheers

Saf I thought the script elaborated on the title as usual but I see what you mean.
Though I had to buy the LeO - with positive thinking I can surmise it was a 'free' one as otherwise, I would have had to give it away. Cheers.
