Title: Things Thai People Do that we don't
Post by: thaiga on August 15, 2016, 12:31:11 PM
Things Thai People Do, that we don't, i could be wrong on some but this is what i have noticed

They are selfie obsessed. We all taken a few snaps whist on holiday or a day out, but were not selfie obsessed, it doesn't matter what time or where, anytime is suitable for thais to take a selfie, whether next to a pop star or even at the scene of a bad accident, you'll see the two finger salute in the background.

They love their country. Unlike a lot of expats that have expressed their feelings about their home country on here, (that'll ruffle a few feathers) even thais that have been to other countries, they wouldn’t change their homeland for anything in the world, they love thailand.

They are obsessed with white skin. There's westerners on the beach trying to get a tan, while thais are using whitening cream. Big business it is too. there is even real time whitening apps with special effects for your selfies. Photo Wonder has some very detailed and specific tools for changing the tone of your skin, makeup, or hiding blemishes. There’s also a “thinify” option and a recently added “beauty leg” feature that makes your legs longer.

Smile at work. Are they are happy. Might be wrong on this one but, i normaly go to the same market and the thai people that have got to know me over the years, always smile and crack a joke. Yet day in and day out they are doing the same thing at their work and still manage a smile. What's behind the smile we'll never know.

Thais use plastic bags for food. Hey! imagine going out for a takeaway in the UK, indian or chinese and they bung it in a plasic bag, tied up with an elastic band. Hmmm.

The butt blaster. That's a fantastic thing to use after you've had your curry or whatever and gone for a turnout, Can you imagine going back to using a loo roll again, i can't.

There must be a lot more things - Thais Do that we don't back home

Bow when they walk in front of someone, we just ask them to move.

Pile every shoe they own right in front of the door, we put them to the side or in a closet.

Love cartoons, my 28 y/o brother in law will lay on the floor laughing like a 10 y/o. Cartoons at home watched more so by children. I find Tom & Jerry not very entertaining.

Have an obsession with cartoon characters, Hello Kitty and Winnie the Pooh are normally clothes worn by children at home not 40 y/o adults who think it's fashionable.

Love the color pink, even many Thai men have pink scooters, at home pink is more reserved for little girls and princesses.

Love their Croc's shoes, fad was very short lived in the States, plastic is not the most comfortable material.

Love Suki, seems to be the choice when going out to eat, we don't really care for boiled food.

Just a few!
