Title: Relief Mission
Post by: Taman Tun on June 14, 2018, 11:34:15 AM
One Guardian journalist has a sense of humour.  This is extract from story about Oxfam being banned from Haiti.

The British aid organisation has been rocked by allegations that staff including a former Haiti country director used prostitutes during a relief mission after a devastating earthquake hit the island nation in 2010.

study finds UN peacekeepers commonly pay for sex

UN sex abuse report: study finds UN peacekeepers commonly pay for sex (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWfCrVB7ctk#)

‘violation of Haitian law and the dignity of human beings’

sex work is illegal in Haiti, carrying a sentence of up to 15 years for those who knowingly use the services of a trafficked sex worker, although another article fron thegaurdian states a foreigner would give at least $100 (£72), more than five times the price a local would pay. all this was in 2010, news must be short supply.

one sex worker said, “They do what they want,” she says. “After the earthquake you would see [foreign workers] asking to have sex in exchange for supplies.

that is a bit naughty if true as the supplies don't belong to them to trade for sex, they are already or should be the property of the needed.
