For Marmite Lovers
« on: June 26, 2020, 10:07:39 AM »
Thanks to Caitlin Moran of The Times for this information:-

Well, the world has come up with an unholy alliance to beat them all: Lynx Africa and Marmite body spray. Yes, Lynx Africa — the smell of hormonal teenage boys shouting, “YOU BUMMER!” at passers-by from the top deck of a bus — has issued a limited-edition fragrance to which a tangy hint of Marmite has been added.

If the old only could, if the young only knew.

"madness in a can"  Thanks for that one T.T.

Just when you thought 2020 couldn't get any more unpredictable, most charming smell i'm sure - Like a curry on a plate you forgot to wash.
no guys it's not recommended to spray on toast, Lynx Africa Marmite comes in a choice of body spray (£3.65 for 100ml) or body wash (£2.84 for 250ml) and will be stocked in Sainsbury's and Morrisons from today, elsewhere from the 1st of July.

i suppose it could be described as the world’s first social distancing tool  ;D

interesting history has Marmite. 2011 i read it was barred from Denmark because it breaks food laws passed in 2004 governing the sale of products fortified with added vitamins. So what's it made of - brewer's yeast concentrated and comes from Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire - The original recipe contained salt, spices and celery. Later folic acid, vitamin B12, thiamin and riboflavin - vitamins which occur naturally in some foods were added in high concentrations.

they say tounge in cheek, Marmite helped win two world wars as it was included in soldiers rations in World War I and, along with bully beef, Spam and condensed milk.

Other things to love or hate, Marmite Mini Cheddar Bites, Marmite crisps, Marmite jumbo rice cakes and Marmite flavoured oven-baked cashew nuts and now Marmite lynx spray. so you'll be tasty enough or hated. they had a Marmite factory in Vauxhall until 1967. The smell from the factory was disgusting!, i'm sure the locals got a reduction on their rates.

the Guardian, the Sun and the Daily Telegraph, have claimed the yeasty spread to be the perfect defence against mozzies, so all good for Thailand is Marmite, could be the mozzies are in the hate group. lol. imo i think Marmite could actually be good for you, for older people who are short in vitamin B-12. it has loads of folic acid.

Spam, Spam & more Spam
Spam Introduced in 1937, canned cooked pork – gained popularity worldwide after its use in World War II.
Hey do you remember when times were hard the grub was still good, what we having for tea mum, the cuboard was bare, but a can of spam sat there. Ah! spam fritters, they were delicious and good to see them on a plate. now stocked at iceland, yummy.

a great teatime throwback for all the family, Spam made its way to British supermarket shelves more than 80 years ago. When America entered the war, Spam became both the boon and bane of troops. Because it was so easy to transport in large quantities, and had a long shelf life, tons of it—ultimately more than 150 million pounds accompanied them. As Spam was the most famous of them, all such meats came to be called Spam.

It wasn’t long before the troops, seemingly served Spam three times a day, seven days a week for the duration, got thoroughly sick of the stuff.                     Oh! no "SPAM SPAM SPAM"

Funny, just today I got an order of Luncheon Meat made in China, I wanted to try. Ordered as special offer yesterday morning, 5 cans of 119 Baht each + 79 Baht for shipping, total of 674 Baht, comes to not so very much more than the price in Germany, where I considered it a delicacy as kid.

Probably it's on stock in Korat, as it was delivered so fast.

I'm looking for canned Corned Beef (from Argentina), but prices are triple of the price in Germany. Not willing to pay those!

Why don’t you check if Kerry Express could deliver the stuff from Korat Chef at a reasonable price?

Re: For Marmite Lovers - Cravendale dunk off
« Reply #10 on: June 29, 2020, 12:25:00 AM »
I'll stick with me tea n biscuits - i wonder what the best brand would be for dunking, digestive are useless, breaking then floating around in the tea. how many dunks different biscuits can handle, McVitie's has spent hours looking into the best biscuits to dunk into your tea. so what did they come up with, not the tastiest of biscuits, rich tea, was the winner, the most robust of all dunkers.

it'll stand  two to eight dunks before becoming too soggy and whoops!. Oat Bake is up ther in the top three dunkers the real top of the pops winner is Caramel Digestive. the secret being is The chocolate and caramel layer acts as a glue that holds the biscuit intact after repeated plunges. so there you go.

It's the third and final round of the CRAVENDALE DUNK OFF. Scottish Shortbread vs English Rich Tea. Will Scotland break away? Will England crumble?

As simple as that: If a seller cannot accommodate a prospective customer with appropriate logistics, the customer might just order somewhere else, even if the price is higher, or waive the purchase completely. Korat Chef's problem is, that his website has not been developed properly, yet. It's not possible to just register an account with one's delivery address, payment options etc., a prerequisite for an online purchase. If he cannot set that up himself, he can just join one of these online marketplaces like LAZADA.

What gives you the idea I would need to be helped to buy from your friend, Jivvy?

I ordered that yesterday to try. And I will try this next.

If your friend manages to set up his website properly and organizes logistics and payment beforehand I might try his services and merchandise. Maybe he can convince me then to order from him in future.

Jivvy, I stated my principles, but you're insistant. That's not helpfulness!

I think I might have rather helped Steve by pointing out, what he could do better.

That I showed interest in your suggestion, you can see from my looking up his website. But you must let me determine, how far my interest goes.
