Where to find cheap power tools?
« on: May 06, 2017, 08:07:46 AM »
I'm looking to pick up some cheap tools like the kind Harbor Freight carries -Not the greatest of quality - but gets the job done for the weekend warrior.
https://www.harborfreight.com/# [nofollow]
I've been to Global House, Home Pro, Mega Home but I think they all run their stores with too much overhead which drives their prices up.

Any recommendations?

What a mess that Global house is, goes in to look at the lawnmowers, guy says there's some new stock come in very good price, points over to where. Sure enough there they was at 1,669 bht. i thought this can't be right, asks the girl standing there gorping at us, toll i, she points at the price 1,699 bht. I'm still not convinced too cheap.

Then i noticed on the box they were in, 1,000 wat or 1,300 wat. again on asking the price of the diff wattage, another assistant says same same, by this time Mrs,T has got one on the trolley to the check out she goes only to be asked for 3,500 bht. yeah right, wonder how many they catch. When explained that's not the price marked up on it, big grins all round, bye bye. the sign was still the same when we left.

They ain't taking money (not ours anyway) I would of bought one if they marked the price right. the a/c was off, that tells you something.

your right it is a mess and the worst thing you can do is keep moving the goods around.people tend to shop at ease when they know where a product is in the store. why is it so far off the main road and so are the toilets when you get inside, most of the outlets are empty apart from a few, which is a sign of no customers and only two checkouts, sure they could manage with one

shame to see

When I wanted cheap but functional power tools I went to Save One and bought used ones. That was quite a few years ago when they sold from the ground and before the fancy renovations so not sure if you can still get used ones. Last thing I bought was a drill and had no problem with itand still use it.
