SINET Wi-Fi Broadband PLans
« on: May 27, 2015, 08:49:07 AM »
Hi ya,

Is anyone out there in the Korat Area using any of SINET's Wi-Fi Broadband plans?

We are seriously considering the 30/10 ( 899 Baht ) or 20/6 ( 699 Baht ) +7% Tax of course!

Sinet already have a Wi-Fi Transmitter in our U-Sabai village.

The main advantage to us is that we can 'Turn the Sinet Wi-Fi service Off' and not pay for the months we are overseas every year, without any contract.

What are the 'REAL' speeds like?   How reliable is the service ( especially in peak periods )?

What do I not know that YOU can tell us about this Sinet service??

Thanx in advance,

Buffy...

We are not on Sinet, but we noticed over the passed week that the Sinet trucks have been around our Home Garden Ville Suranarai Rd community installing wires on top of wires as thy do here in Asia
We are on 3BB and have had good service todate, so no plans to switch for now.

So not many people ( = none ) are using Sinet WiFi I guess!

We are back up in Korat in 3 weeks so I guess we will be Pioneers and move forwards with Sinets WiFi package.

Once connected I'll feedback to you all what we think of it!

Hi Broadband Fans...

Today we had SINET's Wi-Fi Broadband installed at our Bahn in Hua Thale.

Very professional crew and rendered us a tiday job.

It is true Broadband delivered over Wi-Fi from a few Soi's away in our village.

We picked the 25MBps ( Download Speed ) / 8MBps ( Upload Speed ) - Which is B699 +7% Vat / Month ( no contracts )

So we are now able to stop paying when we are not in Korat and simply pay and switch on again when we arrive back.

No installation costs, and they provide you Free with the Wi-Fi receiver ( Booster thingy )

Will post speeds and plans next....

Highly recommended.

Hi, happy buffy, great pics.

1) Do you know what area they cover

2) how are the payments made ie: standing order

3) keep us up to date if and when the speed drops, (disconnections)

Just a small point, when you stop paying when you are not here, will they not take back what they provided free, as in Wi-Fi signal receiver.

Lastly thanks for sharing, hope it stays well for you. :cheers

True internet.  799 baht a month is what I pay for this speed.  Fiber.  ;D.  Act now and you can get in on one of their promotions which will include UBC platinum and mobile phone service.  I opted for the 4 cable boxes package.  I have three cable boxes already, and they gave me a fourth one for free. As far as the mobile phone service......well..dtac has never let me down, so I'm not going to change over yet.

Sinet is a sub-contractor.

Not a buffalo.   My advice to you is to invest in a good UPS backup.  I have four of these, 900 watts back up.  Yes, they are expensive.

Hey Thaiga,

Here is the link to Sinet's coverage map: >>  http://www.sinetfttx.com/%E0%B8%9E%E0%B8%B7%E0%B9%89%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%97%E0%B8%B5%E0%B9%88%E0%B9%83%E0%B8%AB%E0%B9%89%E0%B8%9A%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%81%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%A3/

Not sure about all payment methonds as of yet, the installercollects the 1st month upfront.  Sinet have a shop in The Mal where you can make payments.

No, my understanding is once installed and you pay only for the 1st single Month contract, they leave the infrastructure in place.  ( This is ideal for us as we come for 3 months and go overseas for 3 months )

Also here is the Sinet main Webpage.... No English!!     >>  http://www.sinetfttx.com/

Buffy

The power went out on us four times last night.  I'm seriously considering a generator for back-up.  :-[

Hi buffy, the plan does not cover my area, thanks anyway.

The speed i get at the moment is around 7mbps with TOT 600 bht a month with telephone.

I'm 2 kilometers from the exchange so that's all it gives. (so they say)

For years i struggled with ipstar at 2,400 bht a month and getting speeds of under ½ mbps and constant disconnections, after 5 yrs of complaints they finally put a line in for me. :)

Sinet Service Update:

OK so Sinet WiFi has been in for 5 days now and heavily used in that time....

Overall it appers very stable, reliable  and Broadband speed pretty consistent.

Over 5 days the Internet has dropped out about 4 times, some days not at all.

So Yes = Happy to date!
