90 Days Report by Mail
« on: November 15, 2010, 09:50:24 AM »
The 90 days report can be done successfully by mail to

90 Days Report Section
Immigration Bureau (IMM. DIV.1)
Chalermprakiat Government Complex
120 Moo 3, Chaengwattana Rd. Soi 7,
Tungsonghong, BKK 10210

Download the "Form for Alien to Notify of Staying Longer Than 90 Days (TM.47)" from http://immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/base.php?page=download

fill out, sign and mail in via Registered Mail  with the following attachments:

- Copy of all passport pages (up to the latest arrival stamp in the Kingdom or latest visa stamp)

- Copy of arrival/departure card TM.6 (front and back)

- Receipt slip of previous notification of staying over 90 days (if any)

- Envelope with 5 Baht stamp affixed and return address of foreigner for the officer in charge to send back the lower part of form TM. 47 (receipt slip) after having received the notification.
This part must be kept for reference and submitted at future notifications of staying over 90 days.

The above mentioned documents must be sent by registered mail and the receipt of the registration kept by the foreigner.

Send the mail 7 days before the renewal date.

If  something had been forgotten or is unclear, the office there sends a postcard notifying what is still needed like

"Your documents required for 90 days report have not been completed. Please send more papers as follows...

Please call 02-2855142 for details."

A Code No. will be written on that card that you need to give with your submission of additional documents so that they can find your incomplete report. I did just attach a photocopy of their postcard.

If complete then they'll send you the receipt slip.

Worked fine for me since 9 months now.

Worked fine for me since 9 months now.

But like things can change anyday in Thailand when somebody else occupies the desk taking care of things my recent report had a note attached:

Quote
According to the Immigration Order No. 38/2552 issued on February 5,2009 and being effective from February 15,2009, regarding the specific zone for submission of application in connection with The Immigration Act, Bangkok Immigration Division is responsible and authorized for the applicant residing only in Bangkok. In case of other applicant not residing in Bangkok, he/she must contact the particular Immigration Office / Checkpoint located in the area as specified in the abovementioned order. Thus, next time you have to contact NAKHON RATCHASIMA IMMIGRATION Tel 044-465338

This seems to mean, that people in Bangkok can do their 90 days report by mail, but people in Nakhon Ratchasima cannot (anymore). Unless of course the Immigration Office in Korat does accept 90 days reports by mail again. Just haven't heard of them having changed to doing it again. :-[

It might be an idea to suggest to have for example the Tourist Police post at Yamo accept the 90 days reports. A lot of energy wouldn't be wasted anymore for those trips to Dankwian and the air less polluted. It doesn't have to be by mail, just should be at a convenient and efficient location.

DD, did ya sleep or just forget to pass on this extremely important information? Info from last night on teakdoor is that now the 90 days report can be done again by mail in Korat:

The 90 day report, by post, is now accepted by Korat Immigration Office.

Here is the address is in both Thai and English:

Immigration Nakhon Ratchasima
7 Moo 7
Tambol Dan Kwian
Ampoe Chok Chai
Jangwat Nakhon Ratchasima

Telephone 0-4437-5138

I'd like to know how you get on.

Presumably you must incur the cost of safe delivery and return of your passport. Presumably there will be at least one form to complete that's available only at the Immigration office. Presumably it's OK to be without your passport for several days or weeks. Presumably they won't screw up and lose the passport in the office.

Presumably the risks of post application are better than the drive over there.

Good luck!  ;)

I have been doing 90 days reports by mail for a long time already. Actually I never went to their office for that alone; only did it once at the Chock Chai office as well when I was there for the extension of stay. Chok Chai office were the only ones who asked for a 90 days report in addition to the extension of stay. My mailed 90 days report Chok Chai office refused to accept, upon which I sent it to Bangkok, was called back by a Lieutenant Cornel and given permission to do it there. Until I was told last time to do it in Korat again.

Never was I told to submit my original passport to them for the 90 days report by mail, signed photocopies were sufficient. On their website they ask for

Quote
- Copy of all passport pages (up to the latest arrival stamp in the Kingdom or latest visa stamp)

- Copy of arrival/departure card TM.6 (front and back)

- Previous notifications of staying over 90 days (if any)

- Completely filled in and signed notification form TM.47

- Envelope with 5 Baht stamp affixed and return address of foreigner for the officer in charge to send back the lower part of form TM. 47 after having received the notification. This part must be kept for reference and for future notifications of staying over 90 days.
The above mentioned documents must be sent by registered mail and the receipt of the registration kept by the foreigner.

- Send the mail before the renewal date 7 days.

Worked with Immigration in Khok Kruat (TOT building) and head office in Bangkok. And Bangkok Immigration always sent a new blank  form back to me with the receipt. Apart from that the TM 47 can be downloaded from the immigration's website http://immigration.go.th => Download form (on the left) => Form for Alien to Notify of Staying Longer Than 90 Days (TM.47)

I had been at the Dankwian office today accompanying a friend with a rather unusual constellation for getting an extension of stay. At this occasion I had asked Khun Narong at desk 2 whether the 90 days report can be done by mailing it to his office. He did confirm it.
