technology novelty
this is amusing. there's some interesting and unique food machines you can find in a supermarket in vivo city Singapore. i like the machine that can perfectly peel you a pineapple in 20 seconds, that's cool. any one fancy an omlette. i think the drink machine is taking it to the limits and you need to be told how to use it, maybe they'll find a robot to do that.

keyless and cashless hotel
cool or crazy - Alibaba’s keyless and cashless hotel is straight out of the future
very good as the robot bumps into a chair, no sorry, they don't have any manners and with no social interaction could be depressing.
automation job losses.

Robot Waitress First in UK to Serve Customers
I think more of a gimmick than anything else, at the Tea Rooms and Restaurant in Cobham, Surrey.
The robot waitress was known as Prime Minister Theresa May, might of put the people off visiting this nice place, with a name like that.
What a cracker, better dressed up as father christmas. more tea anyone  ;)

Virgin Hyperloop
Virgin Hyperloop marked a major milestone as two people became the first passangers to trial the high-speed ground technology.
The mode of transport, first proposed by Elon Musk in 2012, is a system of tubes through which a pod could travel at high speeds of up to 600-plus miles per hour. Virgin Hyperloop held a demonstration on a 500-metre track in the Nevada desert near Las Vegas on Sunday.

Footage showed the pod carrying the passengers taking around 15 seconds to complete the test as it accelerated to more than 100 miles per hour.

Virgin Hyperloop is a privately held company with no proven product and no income.  Expect this company to be launched soon on the New York Stock Exchange.  This is what happened with Virgin Galactic, enabling Richard Branson to sell off $300 million in shares to the mug punters.

But apart from that, there are some fundamental safety and technical problems with the hyperloop:-

How to evacuate passengers from the tube in the event of failure,
How to ensure speedy transition of the compartments between vacuum and non vacuum areas of the tube at the start and end of each journey,
Any fracture of the tube for whatever reason (earthquake, crazy guy with AK47) will cause air to rush down the tube at supersonic speeds with disastrous consequences,
How to keep safe spacing between compartments speeding at 1000km/h.

But never mind, let’s all have some fun pumping and dumping the shares on the stock exchange.

Amazing what you can do with a few renderings.  The real physical world is less forgiving.  The Hardt company seems to be composed of a bunch of idealists.  On the other hand, Virgin Hyperloop will prove to be a bunch of share manipulators.

People with money always use OPM.  (Other People's Money).  Virgin must be desperate if they are having to go to Hedge Funds for loans.

The rise of sex robots
There's a movement to stop the rise of sex robots, even before they hit the shelves. We examine what's at stake when we turn to robots for intimacy. well you can't catch anything from it, unless you go for a secondhand one. ha! ha!
