It's All Over Bar The Repeats
« on: June 06, 2012, 12:12:41 PM »
The celebrations to mark the 60th anniversary of Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Saxe-Coburg-Gotha in Britain's most privileged job are over. We shall have to endure repeats for a while, of course, but that's to be expected.

I've seen glimpses of that concert outside Buck House (what a great hostel for the homeless that would make) and was amazed by the naffness of it. Any royalist would be offended at the procession of second rate performers and has-beens who must have been chosen for their cheapness. Some of the male performers, such as the old bloke in a pink suit, must have been selected as amusement for the sons of Lizzy. The sound system was absolute crap. I've heard better in a church hall. The scripts, if the link folk had any, were poor and the jokes were very forced. The fool who announced the arrival of the guest of honour had to look at his papers to remind himself of her name!

All in all, a half-hearted shambles.
