Dramatic moment bus ploughs into petrol station sending breeze blocks flying

This the dramatic moment a bus ploughed straight into a petrol station - but remarkably no one was injured.

The single-decker red bus careered into the shop at the Jet petrol station in Hamilton, South Lanakrshire about 2.45pm yesterday.
Bricks, sections of ceiling and wall panels lay strewn across the petrol station forecourt - with some smashing on to a Ford Focus which had pulled up at the garage.
Last night, a police cordon was in place around the scene while officers investigated the accident and building experts arrived to assess the damage.

Fortunately the bus driver was the only person on board the bus. He was taken to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride for treatment.
It is understood his injuries are not serious.

It is not clear why the vehicle left the road and hit the petrol station.

Three women working in the petrol station at the time escaped unharmed, and none of the pumps were damaged.
A police spokeswoman said Strathclyde Police, Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service had all been called to the scene, and that a number of roads were closed off in the area.
There were no reports of any injuries and an ambulance spokesman said the service was called but not required.

Anyone who goes to a psychiatrist should have his head examined.
