Battle of the xmas ads
« on: December 13, 2016, 01:55:27 PM »
Well! that year went quick and xmas is almost upon us once again and as usual there's a battle for the best xmas adds from all the big names. What with the internet increasing taking over from TV, retailers seek digital advertising, none better than youtube.

The new John Lewis Christmas TV advert 2016 with BusterTheBoxer
This is the story of a little girl called Bridget, When her mum and dad buy her a trampoline for Christmas, they soon
discover that she isn’t the only one with a passion for jumping.

The clip of buster the bouncing boxer was, believe it or not, no.1 in the top 5 xmas ads from the big names.

Here's UK supermarket chain Sainsbury’s entry, The Greatest Gift it was no 2. in the top 5.

That clip was a bit more christmassy and the greatest gift you can give is yourself. Moving on to no.3 in the top 5 is from Burberry.
Odd clip for the happy time of year, or is it me :(

The germans are there at no.4 with an entry from the German supermarket Edeka. The best gift is time spent with you.

How did the clip get ranked no. 4, i'll never know, the second clip below (time to come home) which i would have thought was more appropriate for this time of year, also from the the German supermarket Edeka. Whilst christmas is a happy time, it's also sad for some. No tears now. :(

Here is no.5 an entry from brazil. coca-cola, not that good i thought. I say one thing about the thai people, they certainly know how to make a good advertisement clip, way in front of these.
Well that was the top 5. But Mariah Carey in the second clip below takes some beating with All I Want For Christmas Is You. Merry Christmas all

Neste Natal, agradeça com Coca-Cola

Do We Say Merry/happy Christmas

Happy christmas wasit mean, we say it every year, which is correct i wonder, merry christmas or happy christmas. Some even say happy holidays.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Those are words that you always hear during the crissy holiday season. But have you ever stopped to think why those are the words we use. What's the big deal, Why don't people wish you a Festive Christmas And a Merry New Year, but that wouldn't sound right, like someone saying Merry Birthday, Nah!

They say church leaders in Great Britain years ago, may have encouraged Christian followers to say happy rather than merry, why is that, because merrymaking is not conservative, as in being merry by drinking alcohol.

I wish you all a "happy time" (that'll do)  Oh!no  BONEY - M   :drink
