australian age pension
« on: May 30, 2016, 11:48:25 AM »
I have just been reading from the Human Resourses web page under Australian working life residence
tightening proportionality requirements page updated 15 March 2016.
I have 27 years working life in Australia and it seems that if I am out of Australia before the 1 January 2017
and I do not come back under 26 weeks my pension will be reduced by 8/35ths and if I go back after the
1 January 2017  and leave again I would have to go back every 6 weeks to maintain my pension at its present rate

Hi Gosmik2,  Looks like it depends on (from aussies post below) How long have you lived in Australia

After 6 weeks absence from Australia, pensioners who have lived in Australia for less than 35 years will be paid a reduced rate of benefit proportionate to their Australian residency based on their AWLR . Pensioners with more than 35 years AWLR will not be affected
Anyone who goes to a psychiatrist should have his head examined.
