1MDB
« on: July 29, 2016, 09:06:54 AM »
For some time I have been following the scandal surrounding the Malaysian President Najib and the highly corrupt 1MDB government investment agency.  1MDB is one of the reasons for the huge decline in value of the Malaysian ringgit.  I had not realized that there was a Thai dimension to the scandal until I read this excellent article in the Guardian.  If you have enough money you can get your enemies locked away for ever.  I hope the Thai government picks up on the story and gets the unfortunate Xavier released from jail.

The king reduced his sentence by one third; what means one more year to go, the Swiss news portal whatson.ch (in german) reports.
