car and driver from BKK to Korat, then on beyond
« on: August 21, 2012, 11:46:41 AM »
Greetings All!  Frequent Reader here and at T#$%@isa forum as well.  Infrequent poster.  I'm going to be coming back to Thailand from the States in December to meet new girlfriends family.  They are from a smaller village a couple of hours from Korat.  Ive been to Thailand like 6 times in the past 6-7 years and love the place - particularly the area around Korat.  I plan to retire there one day.  Im hoping that an expat or someone that has travelled more than I can give me the straight answer about a car and driver service to pick me up from BKK when I land and then be able to do an excursion out to the villiage when the GF and I have done our shopping in the following days to visit family.  Previously with my last SO we were able to pay sisters boyfriend at the time to drive us around and help with things.  Well that fell apart and now its start over time and I don't want that family in my new relationship as they are polar opposites.

Any insight or connections would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you, JSatGS

There's a taxi service from BKK and Suvarnabhumi described in detail here somewhere. I can't find it at the moment so have a mooch around the forum yourself.

For transport here, either hire a car in Korat or find a friendly local. The former is probably the better option.

It would help to get a price if you were able to give the name of the village
