Marketing a new business?
« on: May 23, 2012, 07:08:31 PM »
Hiya all,

To all of you who've run businesses here in Korat, what have you found to be the most cost-effective way of marketing?

We've started a cafe serving cakes, nibbles and good quality coffee; and also a English and Mandarin language school. We've done flyer drops and banners for Africa (or Asia, as is the case)... I think we have a decent product, appropriate pricing, but things could be better to be honest...  ()

Care to share your experiences on how to get the word out?

the most cost-effective way of marketing

The first requirement is local knowledge. Then you need to know how Thai, rather than farang, customers can be reached.

I'll share more of our experiences by PM if you think that might help you.

Yeah, that's the idea... I've only lived in Thailand for about 10 months, and know that I don't know alot... hence this post, 'coz others on this forum have lived here longer and have probably been on a similar journey.

Yes, definitely interested in your ideas and experiences on what has worked and what hasn't.

Our business is probably very different from yours but I'd be happy to share with you some of what we have learned. Not on a public forum though. Let the others earn for themselves!
