World Jasmine Rice Festival kicked off in Roi Et    
BANGKOK, 1 December 2010 (NNT) – Roi Et province has launched the World Jasmine Rice Festival, hoping to make the province a hub of production and trade for jasmine rice.

The event will feature many cultural and traditional activities related to rice planting. Jasmine rice and its related products will be on display and sale during the activity.

Meanwhile, Office of the Rubber Replanting Aid fund is prepared to organize the 50th anniversary of its establishment. The anniversary is scheduled to be on December 5th, which coincides with the auspicious occasion of the King’s birthday.

According to Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Supachai Phosu, the event to be held by the Rubber Replanting Aid Office fund is a good opportunity for the people to acknowledge His Majesty the King's multifarious activities for the good of the rubber industry. The event, now being held at Kasetsart University, will last until the 5th of December.
