Getting to know isaan the rice-bowl of the country

Getting to know isaan, and the Thai culture, a lot of people just pass through isaan on their way to places like laos or chang mai and
they don't know what they have missed. Isaan is the real thailand, everyone crack's a joke or two about isaan girls, a bit like they do about the essex girls. But a true isaan girl can be your friend for life.

If you want to see the rural way of life and see some real Thai culture Isaan is the place for you.

Getting off the beaten track some areas unspoiled by tourists, which is mostly farms and villages and delicious food you will find in the markets.

Isaan is the least visited region of the kingdom, and probably the poorest, Farming is the tradition and most peoples livelihood, the landscape is mostly flat, plenty of temples and festivals to see, well worth the visit.

Korat or Nakhon Ratchasima

Korat as we all know is the gateway to isaan, it covers a vast area ten times as big as chang mai. it is well worth a stop off if your venturing into Isaan.

Most isaan people also speak their neighboring countries language which is Lao and enjoy the folk music which is known as morlum.

When you live in upcountry Thailand, everywhere you go your neighbor’s house, restaurants, the market, taxis that’s the music that they play

So true thaiga.  Issan is a great area of Thailand especially the little villages.
Catchy tune.
