Opinions divided over penniless foreigner walking to Pattaya

A penniless foreign man who has little more than the cloths he’s wearing looks to have found some assistance from the police here in Thailand as he attempts to walk from the North of the kingdom to Pattaya.

The story of the currently unidentified foreign man has been widely shared on social media over the weekend after he was originally pictured at a petrol station somewhere in the north where some kind hearted Thai folk provided him with some food and drink at a petrol station whilst on his journey.

The pictures were uploaded to social media along with an explanation that he was attempting to make it to Pattaya to seek help from a friend.

Since his story was shared on social media it seems the Thai police have now stepped in to lend a hand as a picture of the man and 3 officers has also now been posted online.

It’s not clear from the post what assistance was offered however and according to posts the man had previously been filling up a water bottle from petrol station bathrooms as a source of drinking water.

Many people commented online that he should seek assistance from his embassy if he was in such a dire financial situation.

The man’s exact location is at this time unknown but it is believed that he has made it as far as Udon Thani.
