« on: March 07, 2016, 12:47:44 PM »
Hi all members of Koratfart.com,

My name is Kanokwan Tangchitnusorn, I'm a Ph.D student of the College of Population Studies (CPS), Chulalongkorn University, and currently I am doing a Ph.D. dissertation about the international retirement migration (IRM) of Westerners in Thailand.

I registered to this forum because I would like to ask whether any of you be interested to participate in my study, which is an online questionnaire, you can check this out:  newbielink:http://www.goo.gl/forms/dY7GP4SNJG [nonactive]

Hopefully, the research results will become part of policy recommendations, which aim to constitute mutual benefits for both retired expats and Thai society as a whole. In addition, please be informed that Information related directly to you will be kept confidential. Results of the study will be reported as total picture. Any information which could be able to identify you will not appear in the report ka.  :)

Thanks a lot for reading this post.  :)  :)

Hi Kanokwan,

looks like your posting the active link got blocked by the Anti-Spam-Links-Security! Don't know whether I'll be able to fix that in your original posts, but here it should work now:

hi kun Kanokwan,  i have read a similar article on The Migration of Westerners to Thailand which i find most interesting

the common migration motives were a preference for Thai lifestyle and culture, low living costs, a warm climate, and readily available, attractive sexual partners. most planned to stay for life but there major stumbling block was the thai language, some after a while become disillusioned and the most common reasons for leaving Thailand were financial or poor assimilation, not taking in and fully understanding the culture. the move works out well for many but assimilation for many with signs of a local backlash against the influx of Westerners

In the Udon Thani-study by kocH-scHulTe (2008) – a town in north-eastern Thailand – almost all expats were in a relationship with a local from the region and generally lived together with their families.  i feel sure previous experience as a tourist always forms part of the basis for the decision to migrate.

i thank you for interesting subject, wish you well. nan :wai
ignorance does not help your post one bit but it probably says an awful lot about you.
