Preparing for the rainy season
« on: May 04, 2009, 06:32:07 AM »
The last few days saw us working in remote corners of our garden, digging holes and planting new papaya and mango trees. Every year before the rainy season we do a lot of fresh planting so they can grow deep roots with the fresh and plenty water that comes down then. If they can grow long roots in the first rainy season, you don't need to take care of them thereafter so much anymore. But as long as the rains haven't started yet to come down regularly you gotta carry the water to them. After doing that half day yesterday I am desperately longing for rain now.  :-[
