The Meteorological Department issued the latest weather forecast Saturday saying the country’s upper region will be colder with temperatures dropping 4-6 degrees Celsius until February 8.

The forecast for the upper region which covers the northern, northeastern and central regions, including Bangkok and vicinity provinces, came as another round of strong cold spell from China is moving down to blanket Thailand’s upper region and the South China Sea at end of the week.

Meanwhile northeasterly monsoon blowing into the Gulf of Thailand and the South will be strengthened as the cold spell moves in, and high waves are expected in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea.

More rains in the South are also expected.

Boat operators are advised to apply full caution in sailing into the sea during the period, It advised that small boats should be left ashore.

People are also advised to take care of their health due to the weather change, while farmers are also advised that the abrupt weather change could cause damages to their crops.
