Ayutthaya Flooded Again

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra denied that the new and current flooding of the Sena district in Ayutthaya was caused by water mismanagement.
However, Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry have admitted that the flooding resulted from the water discharges from the Bhumibol and Sirikit dams as ordered by the Strategic Committee for Water Resources management To prevent flooding later.

Advisor to Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister explained that the water levels have to be reduced to 45 per cent of storage capacity in both the dams by May 1.
Meanwhile, angry residents are demanding the government to better manage the water discharges and pleaded with the government not to make them bear the brunt of the flooding.

A temple in Ayutthaya is raised 3 meters to avoid the seasonal floods
