A ten-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly attacking two teachers at a school in Orpington, south-east London

Both of the victims were women in their 50s, with one suffering a broken leg and suspected dislocated kneecap while the other had a facial injury. They were both taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

Two teachers were allegedly attacked by a 10-year-old student
The boy was arrested by police, who arrived at the school on Avalon Road, Orpington at around 13.00 GMT on Thursday, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

He was questioned by specially-trained officers in the presence of an adult and has now been bailed until next month.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: 'A ten-year-old boy was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and was taken to a south-east London police station.
.'He has been bailed to return on a date in mid-February.'

One shocked witness to the attack told the Sun: 'The nature of the injuries was very serious.

'The officers who turned up were amazed when they discovered the suspect was only ten.

'It is a truly extraordinary thing to happen and makes you wonder what the world is coming to.'

Government figures revealed last year showed that 15 children between the ages of four and six are excluded from school each day for attacking teachers.
