Nakhon Ratchasima-Schoolgirl rape suspect arrested

Police on Thursday arrested a man suspected of preying sexually on young schoolgirls after approaching them through a social media website.

Nakhon Ratchasima's Muang district police chief Padungkiat Siripornwiwat said the rape suspect was a 37-year-old Phuket resident who was already wanted on an arrest warrant.

Police had been told by teachers at a school in Nakhon Ratchasima that a man posted on Facebook under the names 'Dan Sida' and 'Nakrob Dan Tai' (Southern Warrior) and had lured and raped an under-age girl, a 14-year-old student, said Pol Col Padungkiat said.

The suspect blackmailed her, threatening her with recorded video clips, to keep her from reporting to authorities. The victim became his "sex slave" for more than three months, the officer said.

Police also found out that the man allegedly raped two other students in the same school after contacting them via Facebook.

Pol Col Padungkiat said the arrest was made with the help of another student who tried to contact the man online.

He said suspect told investigators that he tried to impress schoolgirls by making up stories about his fighting against insurgents in the three southern border provinces.

The accused said he would meet them in public parks or shopping malls, but claimed that all his victims consented to the act, police said.

Yeah, quite, wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it had been so. Although, it's probably only a matter of time before an English teacher hits the headlines somehow.

3 girls file complaints about Facebook attacker

Three other girls have lodged complaints about being allegedly raped by a Facebook user after a 14-year-old girl spoke up and reported to the police about her ordeal.

The three girls, with the youngest just 13 years old, are based in Nakhon Si Thammarat, where Wimol Srida, 37, was arrested. He admitted to having sex with the unnamed 14yearold but insisted that it was consensual.

Wimol, a security guard at a Phuket hotel, allegedly lied to his Facebook friends that he worked with security operations in the deep South to gain sympathy. The suspect said yesterday that he had only had sex with two girls and it was consensual.

Anyone who goes to a psychiatrist should have his head examined.

Korat is known to the police as a hideaway for criminals since Mr. Swirl and others were found there. Teaching is, of course, one of the professions that attract paedophiles. I'm sure, though, that all of the English teachers in Korat are nothing but professional in all respects and have never laid a hand on a student, under age or not.
